Our Beach House |
Part I
For the last 5 months my husband (Andrew) and I have been
remodeling our little Beach House. Our house is not on the beach in fact it is
1-1/2 miles away. However, we can hear the fog horns, feel the ocean breezes and
live among so many car toting surfboards that we say “beach house”. In fact,
five minutes by car or 15 by beach cruiser (or bicycle to the in-lander) are
how close we are. We absolutely love it. We are slowly beginning to love the
house instead of cursing it. Since my husband has fought with plumbing, wiring,
tiling, bathroom fan install (that was the worse!) walls that were not level (I
could keep going) he has finally come to the projects that are fun. Landscaping
the backyard. Thinking about the tropical design he wants for the fire pit area.
The relaxing part of the remodel. After
months of scrubbing, sanding and painting our little ugly duckling is finally taking
shape. So, with that said I will be writing
posts on individual rooms and telling you what we did. We love a challenge
but most importantly we love a good deal. We decorate and remodel on a budget.
No need to spend a ton of money to get the coastal feel we all love. So sit
back and listen for those fog horns!
